VENTISETTE Digital & Fil_green for Patagonia present: Shitthropocene
Language: English with Italian subtitles
Running time: 46 minutes

Shitthropocene is a mock anthropological look at humanity’s consumption habits, with a satirical (but brutally honest) eye on how everything is turning to s**t and on why the urge towards excess could destroy us all.

Shitthropocene is a journey that starts from the cellular origins of our lack of impulse control, through to the ways in which our central nervous system has been hacked in the name of capitalism. Along this journey it also tries to understand how we can begin to save ourselves from ourselves.

You’ll have noticed that a lot of things aren’t going so well right now: this film isn’t about all of them — it would otherwise be far too long — instead, it’s about our consumption: both the cause and the symptom of this mess.
For a number of reasons, practically everyone is producing and buying too much stuff, and we are wired to want it.
What was once seen as an advantage is now contributing to the destruction of the planet.
Shitthropocene is a journey that starts from the origins of our lack of impulse control in our central nervous system, manipulated in the name of capitalism, a journey, then, that also tries to understand how we can begin to save ourselves from ourselves.
